Open by reservation, Erämaakota offers an ideal setting for enjoying flame-grilled salmon, a delicious reindeer fillet, or other local delicacies prepared by our skilled chefs. You may select entertainment to complete the experience, which includes a welcome toast and a delicious meal. The hut seats 20 people. From Erämaakota, you can enjoy the magnificent view across the lake Sydänlampi.
The restaurant is accessible on foot in summer, while in winter guests are taken to the hut in a sledge pulled by a snowmobile. This transport is included in the price.
The wilderness hut named ‘Ilkankurun kota’ is situated amidst woods in the hilly terrain of Ilkankuru, just over a kilometre from the Sport Institute’s main building, Kaskela. Ilkankurun kota is easy to reach on foot. In the cold season, the surroundings are transformed into a winter wonderland, complete with a large hill ideal for fast sledding. The hut seats 20 people.
At Erämaakota, you can relax on reindeer-skin rugs in the soft light of the hut, sampling delicacies prepared on an open fire.
