International activities

Vierumäki operates as a versatile centre for development of sports and education in the fitness field at a European level. The Sport Institute of Finland promotes our sports culture by participating actively in international networks and development projects in the field of physical education and sports.

The Sport Institute of Finland is a member of EOSE – European Observatoire of Sport and Employment association. EOSE is an international organization working towards the development of the sport and active leisure sector in Europe. Currently The Sport Institute of Finland is participating in S2ASport Improving Skills for Sport Administration development project and ESSA- European Sector Skills Alliance for sport and physical activity. These projects are funded by the European Commission under Erasmus+. The ESSA-Sport project will last 36 months until 31st October 2019.

With students from numerous countries and different continents, along with international athletes and coaches visiting the institute and training there, the Vierumäki campus is a thriving international community. Close co-operation with the Haaga-Helia University of Applied Sciences offers plenty of opportunities for multicultural collaboration.
