Objectives and Content of The CIM Certified Ice Master Training Programme
The training is designed for experienced professionals working in ice maintenance roles. Participants should have practical experience in ice maintenance and refrigeration technology in ice rinks. We train participants to become international experts in ice maintenance, capable of dynamic action in a networked operating environment, with various people and entities.
The training program is international. The language of instruction is Finnish, and some parts are also presented in English.
The training is an up-to-date course on ice maintenance, ice rinks, and ice quality standards. The goal is to harmonize the production of high-quality ice through training developed in cooperation with the International Ice Hockey Federation.
Application and Student Selection
The next training programme will be organized in fall 2026.
Students are selected based on the application form and a personal interview. The training will accept 16 students, with ten places reserved for Finnish nationals.
Course fee
The course fee is 1490 € + VAT. Transportation from the airport 250 € + VAT. The price does not include accommodation or meals during the on-site sessions."
Accommodation and Meals
The cost for dormitory-level accommodation is 41 € per night per person in a 2-3 person room, including breakfast. An additional charge for a single room is 35 € per night.
If you wish to upgrade your accommodation to the renovated Sport Hotel Pihkala, you can do so when booking your room or upon arrival at the reception. The additional cost for the upgrade is 20 € per person per night. The upgrade is subject to availability. In Pihkala, the additional charge for a single room is €45.
