Sports at Vierumäki
Rooted in tradition and heading for the top, in future Vierumäki strives to become even more involved in the promotion of sports culture and to produce high-quality coaching, training camp, sports development and training services for different target groups.
We aim to provide optimal coaching and training conditions for reaching the international top in the focus sports prioritised in our new strategy: ice hockey, figure skating, gymnastics and cheerleading.
We aim to combine the competence resources of different actors into a single functional entity which provides a competitive advantage in the chosen sports and also allows us to lead the way internationally.
The Sport Institute of Finland is also the official training and coaching centre of the Finnish Olympic Committee.
In future, Vierumäki’s financial profits will be largely returned to the focus sports. By using the services in the area, you are contributing to supporting and ensuring the future operating conditions for physical exercise and sports in Finland.

Heading for the top? Vierumäki offers first-rate conditions for training camps and everyday coaching needs. The Ice Arena, Multipurpose Arena, Tennis & Padel hall, Sports Hall, swimming pools and the area’s outdoor environment create unique and varied conditions for goal-oriented training in different sports.
In addition, the area provides support for the coaching process and offers an unparalleled combination of competences in the field of sports that you won’t find anywhere else in Finland. The Testing Station will also help you monitor your development and recovery.
When it comes to the focus sports and as a part of the regional sports academy network, in future we want to be involved in creating functional dual-career solutions for Vierumäki and the Päijät-Häme region more broadly.
