Padel in Vierumäki
The characteristics of padel make it a great sport for all ages, and it is easy to play even with the youngest family members. The sport is ideally suited for all skill levels, and players of varying experience can easily play together. Typically, padel is played as doubles but it can also be played with three or two players.
Padel was introduced in Finland in the early 2000s, after which its popularity has increased constantly. In Vierumäki, you can play padel on indoor courts in the Tennis and Padel Hall and also on outdoor courts.
Padel rules
The serving player serves the ball from their end
behind the service box. The ball is bounced on the ground and hit from the bounce so that it may not exceed the waist level at the moment of hitting. The served ball must pass the net diagonally and land within the receiver’s service box. The receiving player may not hit the ball before it bounces from the ground.
After the receiver has returned the serve, both players may hit the ball on both ends. The ball remains in play until it bounces from the floor twice on the same end or hits a prohibited area in the wall.
Points are calculated and turns to serve changed similarly to tennis. 15 points are awarded for the first and second balls won and 10 points for the following balls. A player requires 50 points and a 20-point advantage to win.
